The Financial Inclusion Agents (FIA) in Nigeria on Tuesday, debunked the rumour that members cannot enjoy technological integration popularly called interoperability.
A member of the FIA, a network of Shared Agent Network Expansion Facility (SANEF), Atanda Sharafadeen Fasasi, who spoke with LEADERSHIP in Abeokuta, the Ogun state capital said it would be a fallacy to adjudge SANEF as a failure, stressing that the technological integration has been a blessing to agents’ network development in Nigeria.
Fasasi, who is the Managing Director, Ecosystem Hybrid Network, one of SANEF networks of financial inclusion agent also described as untrue, reports that members are yet to enjoy interoperability two months after its coming on board.
According to Atanda, “interoperability involves a lot of technological integration, API sharing among others which I am aware SANEF has been working on”.
Apparently reacting to a media report published recently in one of the national dailies (not LEADERSHIP), Fasasi described the report as misleading, emphasising that technically, agents could not groan since interoperability “is just a value added service which shows an upward drive in financial inclusion being driven by SANEF”.
Atanda however, distanced himself from the report which he said was misleading and capable of disparaging efforts being made towards growing technological integration in Nigeria.
“Technically, agent cannot groan because it is just a value added service and it shows an upward drive in financial inclusions which is being championed by SANEF”.
“I am a witness to the various landmark achievements of SANEF last year, which include agents training in all geopolitical zones of the country, massive market engagements, media advocacy, police/village head visitations, agent issue arbitration and so on. So it will be a fallacy to adjudge SANEF as a failure”, Fasasi said. https://leadership.ng/2020/02/04/financial-inclusion-agents-advocates-supports-for-technological-integration/
